We care about our planet and want to keep it enjoyable for everyone. To help, Villa Serenity follows these eco-friendly practices.
Solar Panels
Villa Serenity has four solar panels (up to 1,600 W). On sunny days the system often powers the pool pump, which is scheduled to run during peak-sun hours.
Coffee - Or where is my Nescafé?
To reduce waste, Villa Serenity does not provide capsule coffee machines. We supply a whole-bean coffee maker instead.
Water preservation
We do not irrigate the lawn. During prolonged dry periods we only water fruit trees and other fruit-bearing plants—not the grass. The lawn is a drought-tolerant variety and may turn brown in dry spells; it will recover in autumn. These measures help preserve drinking water.
Bedding
To conserve energy, we do not iron bed linens. Linens are plain white and produced without added colored dyes to reduce environmental impact, some with 30%+ recycled linen.
Resource use and guest guidelines
We invite guests to help reduce consumption:
- Prefer showers to baths when possible.
- Set air conditioning no lower than 24°C; when possible, open windows for fresh morning air, close blinds to block direct sunlight, and avoid using air conditioning altogether.
- After showering, ventilate the bathroom to reduce mold growth and limit the need for chemical cleaners.
Filtered Water
All tap water in the villa is safe to drink, unless announced otherwise by the authorities. In the kitchen, the left faucet handle provides extra-filtered water. You will notice the difference in taste.
