Pool Safety and Operation

The pool is a place of relaxation for adults. For non-swimmers, especially children, the pool can be life-threatening.

The pool is equipped with an alarm system. This does not replace supervision by a responsible adult. Please supervise children at all times, as they can fall into the water while playing or lose flotation aids. A note from lifeguards: drowning happens quietly.

Before entering the water, deactivate the alarm. When leaving the water, reactivate the alarm. The alarm will restart automatically after some time; for longer swims deactivate it again. Children must be supervised at all times by a responsible, competent adult. Please follow the other pool instructions.

This saltwater pool automatically regulates pH and chlorine. Salt level, pH, and chlorine values are displayed in the pool house. Good values are:

* Salt (SLT): 2800 - 5000 * Free Chlorine (ORP): 650 ± 50 * pH: 7.4 ± 0.2

Values were set before your arrival. In high heat chlorine can drop, rain can lower pH, and other environmental factors can change values. If abnormalities occur the system will show a warning, e.g., "Warning pH low". The message "flow too low" is expected when the pump is off. The pump runs during the day; that is also when most cleaning occurs, and the solar panels provide eco-friendly power for operation. During extended dry periods water must be topped up. If you hear bubbling from the pool or notice other anomalies, please inform staff.

Hi-Fi Receiver

The Hi-Fi receiver can be connected via Bluetooth or USB to a playback device, such as a mobile phone or the TV. It can get very loud; please lower the volume before turning it on — and use room-level volume.

General Safety

If you feel unsafe or need help, you will find the emergency numbers in the Essentials section; a police officer lives next door.

Villa Serenity for Wheelchair Users

The villa is mostly wheelchair accessible, but not fully suitable for an independently traveling wheelchair user.

  • All doors are extra wide (approx. 90 cm).
  • The kitchen contains many items accessible at low height.
  • Bathrooms offer sufficient turning space for a manual wheelchair.
  • The shower is wheelchair-accessible.

  • Important limitations:

    • Entrance threshold: there is an approx. 5 cm step at the main entrance. A temporary ramp or assistance may be required.
    • Bathrooms and beds are not equipped with grab bars or transfer handles.
    • The sliding door to the terrace sits in a recessed track and therefore forms a small obstacle at floor level that may require assistance to cross.
    • No transfer/lifting devices are available on site.
    • There is no shower seat or chair.
If you visit us with a wheelchair, we appreciate your feedback so we can continue to improve accessibility for wheelchair users.
